The Amador Democratic Party invites you to dinner and a movie — View the award winning movie “Broadcast Blues”. This event is on Friday, October 16 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., Thomi’s Banquet Room, 627 South Highway 49, Jackson. This fundraiser is $25/$20 Seniors and includes spaghetti dinner and a showing of “Broadcast Blues,” an award-winning documentary on the corporate takeover of our publicly owned airwaves.

The Director of “Broadcast Blues” calls Amador County her home. That’s right, Sue Wilson is a hometown lady. Perhaps you saw her at the County Fair this year. She mentions her attendance in an article at the Huffington Post. The article is titled, “Save Talk Radio!” and is also posted on her own blog, Sue Wilson Reports under the title, “Right Wing Ambush”. More information at the Amador County Democratic Party.

California State Democratic Party Region 7 Regional Platform Meeting

This meeting deals with the CDP Platform. I will be holding two Regional meetings for the purpose of hearing testimony on the Platform for the CDP prior to the November E-board meeting in San Diego. This meeting is open to the public. Members of DCCs, ADs, and Democratic Clubs are especially invited to give testimony at the Regional meetings. There will be someone representing the Platform Committee of the California Democratic Party at each meeting.

Candidates seeking office are also invited to attend the meeting in order that they may be introduced and give a short speech. Speeches shall be limited to two or three minutes each depending upon the number of candidates interested. Candidates wishing to be introduced can be added to the agenda by forwarding an email request to Gary Robbins at cdpregion7director@sbcglobal.net.

Revolving Door Project, Friday August 14th, 1pm – Visit Sen. Dianne Feinstein and share your personal health care story or share your health insurance bill or whatever else we can think of to convey the personal side of this battle. The goal is to inundate the representatives’ office throughout the week with real people—their constituents— who can’t be ignored! Turn Fresno Blue – join with central valley Democrats for a super canvas event August 8th or 9th. One big weekend of canvassing!  We are only a few thousand from making Fresno blue again and we need your help on this occasion. Don’t miss out, it is not everyday that a county changes hands.

Tom Tryon Talk – Supervisor Tom Tryon will speak on county government issues, August 10th at 1pm, at the new Murphys Senior Center located adjacent to the Faith Lutheran Church. Contact 728-1672 by 10:30am to reserve a lunch to be served at noon. Stay afterwards to play bridge and cribbage. The senior center is open Mondays and Wednesdays 9-4:30pm.

DNC Western Caucus August 7-9 – our local representative invites suggestions for topics, both formal and informal. Please share your comments and ideas.
